The Corn Cob Incident

This is a warning for anyone who wants to invite us over to their house for dinner.

Over the summer, we were invited to Bobby sister's place for dinner. She made a scrumptious Cafe Rio style dinner complete with corn on the cob. Bobby left his corn cob holders on the plate. So when his sister went to wash the dishes, the holders-without her knowing- fell into the garbage disposal. She turned on the garbage disposal only to hear a clank...crunk...sputter...and die. To make matters worse, the garbage disposal was BRAND new. They had just put it in like the day before. Bobby felt terrible and from now on...he's not allowed to use corn cob holders.

Recently, we were invited to a friend's house for dinner. She had a very nice glass top table with fancy woven chairs. From a distance, they looked pretty sturdy. We all sat down only to hear a creak...crack...and rip. Bobby had broken the chair. We hadn't even been there 5 minutes. At least the dinner and dessert were good.

Friends and Family- you have been warned! We love going over to your house for dinner, BUT invite at your own risk. Or just invite me, I can eat for 2 people.
